Abstracts

This series of photographs explores the ecstatic – something transcendent, outside of our selves – through partially abstract art, using visual elements in the images, like line, form, texture and motion, to suggest meanings separate from the reality of the subject.  Being pulled deeper into the meaning of an image can be one path to pulling you outside of your self, which is the point of ecstatic art.

These images are from the streets of the Kensington neighborhood in Philadelphia, from recent visits to California museums, and from my own backyard.
